The romantic waltz is a very popular dance. Whenever there’s music playing, you’ll likely hear the unique 1,2,3 waltz rhythm.

The Waltz is a smooth dance that travels along the outside of the dance counterclockwise, following what they call the “line of dance.” 

What makes the Waltz special are the styles of “rise and fall” and “body sway.” Rise and fall is when a dancer rises up on their toes, then “falls” down through the knee and ankle, ending with a flat foot. This gives couples a floating look as they move smoothly around the dance floor.
